Went snorkeling today at Hanauma Bay (which I think is its own city and not Waikiki, but I couldn't pass up that title).
Oh. My. GAWD, that was fuckin' cool!
Hanauma Bay is this big huge reef just full of--as they put it--unintimidated fish; you can swim right up to most of them and they'll just continue feeding off of the reef. Dad and I got an underwater camera, snapped a few photos; it isn't digital, so we'll have to bring back hard-copy prints.
We saw fish I couldn't identify at all; white fish with black stripes, black fish with yellow and blue stripes, fat-ass black fish with white polka dots, looooooooooong pale green fish that looked almost translucent. Lots and lots of really cool coral. Very frickin' cool; we have every intention of going back.
Shame about the weather, tho...the clouds rolled in on us. It's still quite warm out, but...well, I wanted to come back several shades darker and the weather just isn't cooperating. Still...this is just what I needed, regardless. I could probably come home now and be pretty satisfied; and I've got a whole week of this...! *bouncebounce*
...and I don't ever wanna leave. If I can find a way--and if I can convince my Wubb·E--I will live here some day.
