The frantic summer planning has started.  R is working with her school to see if she can go to the New Age festival she's gone to for years even though it's before school is out.  I think of it as church camp, and hate for her to miss it.  We'll see what works out, and whether it will help for me to contact the principal.  I'm waiting to see what ( Read more... )

Day 7 & 8 - Visiting Mom & Dad, plus L & L
Mom slipped Thursday morning and after a ridiculous amount of time waiting for an X-ray and waiting for her doctor to call about the X-ray, we found out one of her ribs is cracked.  We're grateful for good pain meds.

We had dinner last night with friends of Mom and Dad.  Talk turned to the Presidential election, always a loaded topic, but inexplicably popular.  Mom and Dad's friends are Southern Democrats, but not "yellow dog" Democrats, because they have voted Republican on occasion ( Read more... )

Drove from E's house to my parent's house today.  I made good time despite a nearly hour long  "unscheduled exploration" of rural TN.  I've never driven out here this time of year, and the prettiest bloom I saw was the crimson clover along the roads ( Read more... )

 We visited yard sales and plant nurseries, went to a garden club meeting, visited a couple of E's friend's gardens, and "played in the mud."  Playing in the mud (at least for this trip) was making hypertufa pots and mushrooms.  They should be cured enough to move when I swing back through next weekend ( Read more... )
