Summary: Griffin's got the flu and David takes care of him.

The week following their failed excursion on Mt. Everest was spent in bed. Or at least, on Griffin's part it was. David confined him to the bed when Griffin coughed for five minutes straight. After that it was beddie bed and bye-bye freedom. David had had a hissy fit when Griffin moved to the couch in order to play videogames.

Normally Griffin would have snapped back and won, but his current state consisting of a runny nose and sniffles impeded that.

So now he was stuck in bed with nothing to do.

He already slept so much that it was starting to lose its appeal. So now he sat in his bed, the blanket draped over his raised knees, his back against the wall behind him and his arms folded over his legs.

He was bored. He was sick and he was so bored. He let his eyes drift as he tried to spot David from his current location. He couldn't see him. Nor could he hear him. Griffin strained his ears, but still nothing. So Griffin got up, albeit more shakily than he expected, and moved over to the couch, bringing his blanket along with him. That way, he could hopefully satisfy David's need to bundle him up.

He turned on his console and wasn't even through the introduction of the game when David jumped back into the Lair. He saw Griffin out of bed and immediately a frown etched onto his face.

"I'm in a blanket," Griffin defended before David managed to make a sound. "It's--" Griffin's nose took that time to start to itch and he tried with all his might to suppress his sneeze. He failed. He sneezed thrice in a row. "--fine," he finished with a droopy nose.

"Uhuh," David said unconvinced.

Griffin shot him a weak glare as he bundled himself further in his blanket. David let out a snort while he took his packages over and sat down next to Griffin on the couch.

"Here," David said, holding out a handkerchief. He merely raised an eyebrow at Griffin's attempt at a glare.

Griffin glowered at him while he accepted the offered handkerchief. He needed to get better soon, before David lost all respect for him. He blew his nose quickly and folded it neatly before he put it aside. He picked up his controller and scrolled through the menu, all the while ignoring David who sat next to him. He ignored the rustling of packages and tried to focus on his game, but his curiosity was piqued. He glanced from the corner of his eyes and noticed David put different cups and containers on the table.

"What are you doing?"

David looked up from his bustling. "I'm preparing our lunch."

Griffin looked back to all the stuff David piled on the table; small boxes large boxes, cans, bottles, sauce cups. His eyes darted back to David.

"For which army?"

David too glanced at all the assorted food and drinks. "It's a bit much," David conceded while Griffin snorted, "but I didn't know what you could stomach. So I just brought one of everything."

Griffin let out a laugh but it turned into a hacking cough. He tried to hold it in but that just hurt more. David immediately reached for one of the cups and handed it to Griffin. "Here, drink this. It's good for you."

A sip of the beverage slipped smoothly down his throat and left a sweet taste behind. "What is it?" he asked as he drank some more, the battle on the screen completely forgotten..

"It's coconut water," David said with a grin as he watched Griffin drain all of it.

A contented sigh left Griffin's lips. "God, that's good. Do you have some more?"

David's mirth was palpable but Griffin didn't care at the moment. He was staring at the table,  his eyes searching for similar cups. He spotted one and reached for it, uncapped it and sniffed. No smell reached his senses because of his cold.So he took a sip and and tasted a different flavouring than his coconut water. It was also a lot colder. He made a face. David laughed at him even as Griffin put it back down.

"No, I don't like that one."

"It's veggie healthy. Maybe that's why." David handed him a container. "Take this. I know you'll like this."

Griffin opened the container and the warm scent of chicken soup pervaded through his blocked nose. "How quaint."

"It's very effective and very tasty."

Griffin couldn't argue with that. He accepted the spoon David offered and began eating. David himself grabbed another container and began eating himself. Griffin was happy to note that he only coughed once more and his sneezes had stopped altogether. That night he played a shooter game and David left him to it for almost two hours before he shooed him off to bed.

Despite the fact that he already slept most of the day it didn't take him long to doze off.
