Ahaha--he is pretty ugly looking, huh? But yup, that's the sun in our world. What he means is...umm...well, he gives us light and heat the same as any other sun, but he laughs a lot too.

The sun is an actual being where I'm from, too, so him laughin' a lot ain't all that weird to me! The ugly part, though... that definitely is.

I'm kinda afraid to ask, but, is he a god?

No...he's just the sun. The only gods I've ever met in my world have been death gods, really.

And a demon god if you really want to count him as a god.

I don't count demons as gods. Ever.

So, if the sun isn't the source of life, but you've got a bunch of death gods runnin' around, does that mean you've got life gods, too?

There's only two death gods, Lord Death and his son Death the Kid. I only know about other gods through mythology and the different religions in my world buuut I'm not sure if any exist or not.

Life just...happens. And when your life ends, your soul is taken to wherever it's meant to go. If it doesn't get eaten first, anyway.

That's kinda weird. You'd think if there's a god of one thing, there'd be a god of other things! But I guess that's just another way our worlds are all different.

W-well, yeah, they can but--we do our best to stop that from happening!

We--me, my partner, all the other Weapons and Meisters at the Academy and Lord Death too! People that eat souls are intent on becoming demon gods, so we fight and destroy them.

Uh-huh! We fight demons and Witches to keep the peace for the whole world. That's how everything stays in balance.
