Pledges and Plans

Needless to say, news of my return to the internets was greatly exaggerated.

After my previous post, the very next day, the same thing which had been repaired in Pan, my laptop, went wrong again. I couldn't by any means afford to have it fixed again, so I was without a computer. I do still have the hard drive for that as a removable drive, so I have all of my files, but no computer. fraggedone has allowed me to use a spare of his, so I do have one now, but after all the trouble I had, I had actually gotten used to not having a computer. Also, I have been strikingly depressed for many reasons, financial at the root. I have been going nowhere but work and seeing no one but those I live with, and them but seldom. hairyscotsman was here for a few weeks around my birthday, which was wonderfully stimulating. Make of that statement what you will. *innocent smile*

But, all the above was not my main reason for this post. I am in Scotland again. Still not for good, as the final move must wait on the above financial trouble, but for a month. I have been here two weeks already, and it has been so...distracting. That is not the word I was going to use, but I had Gavin nuzzling my neck at just that moment, and it seemed singularly appropriate. *grin*

The visit has been in almost all ways the opposite of what life has been in the interim. It has been vibrant, sweet, and altogether what life should be. I am more absurdly and head-over-heels in loving things than ever, despite wet towels being left about. It must be love!

For the next week, hairyscotsman and I will be renting a car and driving about England. We will have a tent, and possibly visit with likely friends along the way. It is amusing to me that as often as I have been in the UK, it has been almost entirely Scotland. I only made it down into England last trip, and then only incidentally to Carlisle. So, Gav is showing me about 'Merrye Olde Endland' (she types, tongue firmly in cheek). We will be driving south from Perth via St. Andrews toward Alnwick. We will continue down toward York and Derby, possibly down to Stratford or further afield if we feel adventurous. I don't think we will make it down to London or Cornwall this trip, as they deserve a more extensive time commitment. We will most likely head west, up through Wales, through Liverpool, and thus back up to Scotland.

If any of you are in and around those areas, and would like, it would be lovely to arrange to meet for a lunch perhaps!

Specifically, I believe the_mollisher is along that route, but if anyone else is close, or would like to recommend any places to try to see, let us know. Most of the plans will be wandering and winging it, with reseach enroute with the internets at libraries and such.

Also, I have set up our mobile to text to my twitter account, Ivywen, so we can do up to the minute sharing of fun and any small adventures that we encounter. I do not know if my import is still working, so if you wish to follow the trip, you may need to do it directly from there. We will be taking stupid amounts of photos, and will try to put up at least a few while out, to be shared more fully upon return.

I need to make a conscious effoft to stay in touch with you all. You are such wonderful friends, and absolutely beautiful and inspiring when I allow myself to be inspired. Please take this post as a pledge that I will try to share and live fully again; I will strive to make it so.
