Right. Things of late:
* Been listening to Air's 'Sexy Boy' a lot. Love it.
* Bought Gala's 'Freed from desire' on vinyl for a quid from a local pawn shop. Ace! Love the 90s dance crap:

YEAHHH.
* Been playing with the turntable a bit more. Really fancy learning to beatmatch and DJ, and maybe how to scratch too. It's great fun (though arguably not a waste of time I can afford!)
* Related to above, I bought a faulty Gemini CDJ600 on ebay, with the fault 'the buttons change around sometimes'. Cost me £40, which was my max bid. Turned up yesterday and I _seeeeem_ to have fixed the problem with an extra ground wire and some general cleanup of the PCB. I've been messing about with it - it's a lovely unit - and now want to keep it instead of selling it. Bahh. Maybe I'll get the impetus to sell it and spend the money on more vital stuff (like, we need a new bookcase). I did notice, though, that it is almost entirely commodity hardware, unlike the Denon I looked at earlier - there's a slot-loading IDE CDROM, plugged straight in to an IDE-to-USB2 transceiver chip (!!), and an ARM CPU which the hardware actually runs on. The board with the CPU on it looks really hackable - theres a JTAG connector (with pinout in silkscreen!) and what appears to be an rs232 UART. I'm really, really tempted to find a couple of GPIO and hang a VGA port off it, then port DooM to it. It'd be a fun project - I've never actually ported Linux successfully, (though I've tried in the past!) so it'd be educational, and yeah... .. .... ... but I totally should be working on more pertinent things.
* .. ie, b0rk. WHICH IS NOW RUNNING [1]. Fuckyeah! It's not totally finished, since it looks like I need to re-introduce a chunk of functionality which I previously disabled (during a phase of 'need to make this less complex so it actually gets finished') which should cause it to become significantly faster.
* The Pwny award
nominations are up. Apparently they're drawn 6pm tonight, Vegas time.. I hope that ASP.NET padding oracle bug wins something, I loved that bug.
* GOOD LORD B0RK IS MOSTLY FINISHED MAYBE I CAN HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE AND DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN CODE FOR 10-15 HOURS A DAY EVERY DAY
* Michelle (
chaotic_sixx) is coming to visit next weekend. Should be nice! Me and Kat don't get visitors often. I think me and Kat should make more effort to socialise in Manchester. We should totally throw another party, too. Partying is fun.
* New series of Dragon's Den is just as comedy as I'd hoped. Love it!

[2] wtf, the blink tag doesn't 'work' in Chrome?!
