After the end of the revolution, Terezi had been hopeful. She had been plotting for months with Beiste and various others, trying to uncover a way to manipulate the power of Wonderland into decided who stays and goes. There was revolution, change of power, and the opportunity to make things go her way.

But then Karkat's room was empty.

Terezi's in the forest now, up in the trees. She's hanging upside down, dangling her arms, swinging in the branches, and thinking of home (before the game, before the Veil).

"Hey, grubloaf!" Terezi drops a partially eaten apple in his general direction when he passes by.

Grubloaf?

Well, there's only one person ever who would call him that, especially considering she doesn't sound like she's particularly trying to insult him or anything. He pastes on a smile as he looks up and sidesteps the apple, because he's not sure he wants to get into explaining strange human rituals like missing your loved ones when you're apart. Hey, for all he knows, that's like, a thing.

"Hey! Ohmigod, how's it going?"

"Same as usual. Trapped in another universe, climbing trees and shit." She swings herself up, grabbing onto a branch and flipping herself into a seated position.

"Come up here and join me!"

Poland nods a little, then scrambles up the tree to about her level, sitting down on a branch with his back to the trunk as he looks at her.

"So like, how about that whole mirror revolution thing, huh? Totally never thought I'd see the day. The last time I insulted the Queen to one of them, they like, just about bit my head off over it!"

She wiggles around on her branch (causing leaves to fall in the process) until she's hanging upside down again, her face directed towards Poland.

"She wasn't giving them what they wanted, despite being their creator. Looks like they weren't too fond of her flaunting her power, either. Honestly, I'm surprised she didn't realize something like this would happen."

"Oh, I guess that makes sense. Leaders totally need to be careful about that stuff, sometimes. Still, I'd always thought they were super loyal to her!"

He dangled his feet in the air, faintly contemplative. "I guess it's kinda weird with her gone, too. Not that I'm complaining or whatever, just..."

"Feels weird, yeah?" She grins slightly.

"Just think: We don't even know the little human girl we've replaced her with. She might turn out worse, hehe. Then what'll we do?"

Poland is used to shifts in monarchic power, albeit usually within the same dynasty. "I guess we'll totally have to see. If she's wicked awful, I guess she could get deposed, too."

"There's only so much deposing we can do, though." She unhooks one leg from the tree, only dangling from the other.

"You think Alice'll listen to us?"

"Well, we've kinda got the momentum going for it now, but I guess we'll have to see if it's an issue in the first place."

God, he totally hopes she doesn't fall.

"I'm totally not really sure about her yet, but at least she's always seemed pretty okay so far. Like, when she posts on the network and all. Right?"

"Right, right. No noticeable bitchiness, that's for sure. Question, though: say I've got a request. Do you think she'd listen? Or do you even think she'd have the power to follow through?"

It's been on her mind, and she supposes it's worth an ask.

Poland shrugs a little bit. "I guess the best way to find out is like, probably to ask her."

Briefly, he pauses as a thought occurs to him. "...Why? Do you like, think she could send us back?"

"Fuck going back!" Her violent outburst is a little too violent, especially considering her precarious position. She swings dangerously, but before falling, she quickly slips her other leg onto the branch. Safe, though her cheeks are looking a little teal.

"Ahahahahaa, oh woah. Hehehehe! Almost bit the dust there! Fffffahahahhahhaahhahahaa! Oh man, hahahaha!" Obviously, the correct response is to laugh forever. In the middle of it, she rights herself on the branch. No more dangling upside down.

"Well, while my goal isn't to leave, seeing if she can send people back is a legit concern."

Poland starts a little as she nearly slips, freezing in place to avoid adding any unnecessary movement to the branch. He sighs in relief as Terezi rights herself.

"I wasn't, like, saying you should or anything." He didn't know what her home was like, but not everyone was less happy here. "...It's just, like, I really wanna go home."

More than he ever had before, as terrible as that was to admit to himself.

"Why do you want to?"

She 'stares.'

He hesitates, nervous for a second, wondering if he should try to talk about it with Terezi. She's... difficult to talk about Human Feelings with, in his experience, but she did just ask him directly, and he is a terrible liar.

After a moment, he slumps, breaking what passes for eye contact and wrapping his arms around himself a little. "...Liet went back."
