Summary: Minato and Yuu talk about things that normally, if Minato had the choice, would stay hidden forever.
The Story:
Day Two. It was almost midnight of Day Two, and going into Day Three. Only two days of the event, two days of being confined in the shelter had passed, and yet it felt like ages. It felt like forever, like it would never end, and yet, it also felt like... nothing. The earthquake earlier in the day, the aftershocks and tremors, the flickering lights, the darkness, they were... nothing. None of it had affected him nor could it have affected him.
The sense of distance and feeling of isolation which Minato thought would slowly dissipate or thought he could overcome had only increased with every fleeting second, minute, hour, and now day. During the waking hours, it was much easier to pretend, to dismiss the feeling, and keep it behind closed doors as he had always done.
And yet, it was only in sleep, after shutting out the world, that despair clawed its way out of the confines of the depths of his mind. Minato liked his sleep and whenever he did drift off, he was completely still, save for his breathing.
But this time his sleep was restless, the event affecting even his dreams, that loneliness forcing up visions of his past that were violently vivid and haunting. He shifted and kicked, as if that would help drive away all that he had been seeing and involuntarily reliving.
