When Eve hears the prize of the mirror pieces, she actually, physically explodes.

Well, okay, no.

Eve is sitting at the top of the bleachers taking up more space than she should because her wings are showing, curving slightly to block out the noise and the view of other people. Her legs are crossed, her expression is a little disinterested, and she has a drink in hand. At the mention of the prizes, she only puts the drink down and crosses her arms.

Kura looks over with mild interest at the winged woman.

"This person hardly seems interested in the proceedings below."

She turns her head very slowly to face him. She tilts her head as she stares at him. "I know you. The one who fancies he's an emperor."

Elaine is already waiting. Her name had been on that list, to her great surprise, and so had some of her friends'. She sits on the square that was assigned to her, trying hard not to feel nervous, fiddling idly with her armband. It's really close to ten, or at least it feels far too close.

She wonders who they'll be fighting, or if her mirror is in on the board. And she already settles it in her mind: she'll do her best to get them through the game, even if it means killing mirrors. She looks around for her friends.

Minato had been standing in the corner of the board, the proper starting place for any good Rook or Castle piece. How appropriate in ways as he liked to blend in with the background. His eyes moved toward the stands and to the players on the field. Some of his friends were also part of the game, mirrors included.

He headed up to the top most edge of his square to his friend who had been assigned the position of Pawn.

"Elaine. How are you holding up?"

Elaine looked over her shoulder at him. "Good. A little nervous, but that's nothing."

She stood, walking overto the edge of her square as well, and crossed her arms. Her gaze intentionally fell to his evoker. "Ready to fight?"

26. Black Castle to A4 (mirror!Kurt is captured) jivitadana June 24 2011, 18:44:10 UTC
Minato only had to move once before this, at Move 20. Being a Rook or Castle piece had an advantage in that he had time to wait and watch the field. He could keep an eye on his friends and make sure his mirror and the mirror of his senpai were also safe despite being on the opposing team. Yet he had seen the consequence of losing or being captured. What was it that Wonderland had been planning, and were the Twins going to keep their word?

But now Minato had to move, but at least it had been in close proximity to Elaine still, who had recently won her battle against a mirror. This time Minato had his own challenge as he faced the mirror before him, one he was unfamiliar with.

There was no way he could his Evoker or sword. At least, not yet, not until he knew what Kurt's abilities were.

Kurt's Mirror had been a little too confident, really. He didn't know a whole lot about chess, but he knew that the guy behind him could move like the guy in front of him, and that when that guy stepped aside, suddenly he became an open target. There wasn't anywhere he could go - even if he could move forward, he'd still get caught by whoever this jerk in front of him was.

He glared when Minato entered his square, and he took his hands out of his pockets since they were all he had to fight with. Really, he knows he's not strong. He's skinny, and under his super masculine jeans and flannel, he has pear hips. He knows he looks girly and weak, and he's supposed to get captured. He never had a fighting chance, really ( ... )

Minato, however, still had a hand in his pocket as his right hand held onto his Lucifer's Blade. Really, he should have considered leaving the sword in his room, but he had to come prepared.

Seeing Kurt ready to fight with his fists was already confirmation enough that it would be completely unfair to use any weapons other than just that, his own fists. Minato set the blade aside in a safe spot. If only he took up boxing like Akihiko-senpai had. But oh, well. Kendo and all the battling in Tartarus against the Shadows had to mean something, even if he was an average 5'7" Asian teenager.

Minato nodded, knowing that this really wasn't going to end all that well. But as it was required, and because he had the prize to keep in mind not for himself, but for his friends, he was going to have to fight with everything he had.

Once in close enough proximity to Kurt, the blue-haired teenager stood still, other than raising a hand briefly to beckon the mirror to attack him first.

38. Black Pawn to E5 dulldollmaker June 24 2011, 18:30:07 UTC
Seeu wasn't fond of what was happening. He didn't like being used for a fight and more importantly while he was trapped on this damn chessboard, Yujinn was left vulnerable. When moved forcibly by invisible whatever the hells, the Prince frowns at the person in the square with him.

"Another life isn't incentive enough for me to kill you. Do you at least feels the same?"

The concerned face breaks into a hesitant smile of relief. Ben would have gotten his gun out if he'd needed to, but if a peaceful resolution is available...

"Yeah, you bet I do. Anyways, I'll believe that prize stuff when I hear it from the Queen."

And maybe not even then, but it doesn't pay to say things like that out loud.

"If you have no will to fight then I will simply knock you out now and you can deal with the consequences. If you want to fight then I suggest you bring your best non lethal combat."

Seeu hasn't got the Lunar Mercury out but he summons it in the form of a staff. The red headed prince brings the staff forward aiming to jab Ben's side.

Sofia paces back and forth on her square like a very angry tiger in a very tiny cage.

Her counterpart must know the rules of chess. Perhaps she would as well, if she were to think about them. All she knows now is that this game involves too much waiting and not enough killing.

As move after move passes by she eyes all the pieces in her sight, occasionally flashing them angry glares and hands that burst with fire, ice and bees.

And then finally, FINALLY her first move is called. She takes a deep breath, hisses through gritted teeth, steps forward and... stops.

"That's it," she notes with dry accomplishment before staring back at the distance she just covered.

That's it?!"

Sofia drops to her knees, howling in frustration.

Mark's been following the game from his corner of the board.
Stango's been taken, and the pawn that brought him down is right there within Sofia's range. He understands that there's a strategy going on here, but he'd also like to see some revenge.

Sofia's radio crackles.

"Waste of your talents."

Getting back on her feet she fishes for the radio.

"Right there," she growls with bared teeth and glares at Seeu, although if she's merely spotted a potential target or if revenge is on her mind as well is hard to determine.

She's come to dislike harm coming to her fake brother from anyone except herself, but after a while she was forced to stop paying attention. Obviously everyone except for her got to play. It was unfair. Unfair.

"Why are we playing by the boring rules?"

Her tone is whiny now... perhaps a little hopeful. So far Mark's counterpart has been one of the few people capable of selling her a non-violent approach. Occasionally.
