Nyota watched the heavy clouds with an almost excited gaze as she got a mug of haji. It was too cold, to be sure, but she loved the rain. It was just about the only thing she loved about this remote outpost, but of course that wasn't why she was here. She'd finally tracked the source of the anonymous transmission to this remote outpost, and managed to secure transfer. Despite breaking into a few secure files, she hadn't had any luck finding out who'd sent it. In the meantime, she was doing her best to get close to the other officers on the base in hopes of eventually finding out something.

When one of the cryptographers called to her, she smiled and waved, walking over to the table to join them. “Thanks,” she said, sitting down. “Do you always have such nice weather out here?”

Vana, the one who'd called her over, grinned and nudged the person sitting next to her. "The sad part is she thinks she's joking, eh Daj?"
With a snort of agreement, Daj gave Kerin a vaguely sympathetic look over his own mug; "She's right you know - this is nice for round here. With a whole planet to pick from you'd think they'd go for somewhere a bit nicer."
"Yeah," Vana agreed, "We're not asking much. A tropical beach or two...maybe some surf..."

"This is nice?" she asked incredulously, giving a mock shiver. "Lovely." She sipped the haji and shook her head. The weather didn't really bother her much, but commiserating seemed like the wisest course of action. "What do you all do to stay sane out here?"

"Yeah, well, they've got to build all the way out here," Kem commented from a little further down the table, shrugging. Daj gave him an odd look but didn't comment.
"Drink?" Vana volunteered dryly in response to the question. "Bother the tech staff. Have snowball fights when the section leader isn't looking."
"Borrow fighter craft for 'training exercises'," Daj added with a grin. 'Training exercises' was the generally accepted euphemism for joyriding.
