The other shuttles had already started to lift off by the time Adrian - more out of sheer boredom than dilligence - completed his second round of pre-flight checks. He slouched back into the pilot's seat and propped his feet up on the control console. Flight control was a bitch. He completely understood that they liked to have some time between landings at the same location, and it did make perfect sense, but that didn't mean he had to like drawing the short straw to go last. Maybe flight control figured medical needed more time to get cleared for takeoff. They certainly seemed to have more baggage on them than the other teams.
