Invigorated from her dancing earlier in the day, Christine still had a spring in her step on the way over to the Starbase. Wearing civilian clothing - jeans and a shirt-vest combination that could only be described as "cute" - hair straight down, and a bright smile, she thought she looked pretty damn good, too. Not that going shopping with her boss for a coffeemaker was exactly an activity that required her looking nice, but, still, it was nice to be dolled up and out of uniform for the afternoon.
She needed to check the map once she transported over, but once she got her bearings, Christine managed to hunt down the section of tables she'd agreed to meet Leonard at for their little excursion. A contradiction to his gender's tardiness, he was there already.
"Why, helloooo, Doctor McCoy," she greeted cheerfully, sliding into the chair opposite him. "How are things?"
He was back to people watching again. Unlike yesterday's wait, there was no nervous energy now. So Leonard didn't mind just sitting about with his own thoughts and a coffee. He was getting in the mood for today's man-- coffeehunt, you see. At hearing that bright, sunny voice practically singing to him, though, he lit up a little more too.
"Hey Christine! How are ya? You're lookin' great." Between her good moods, her good looks, and her wonderful sense of humor, it was almost a shame that Leonard didn't feel anything more personal toward this 'Christy'. Any man who got her, and could keep her, would be a lucky man indeed. But if there was one thing this whole date experience had taught Leonard, it was that he was still had some baby steps to take in getting on over and back into the saddle again.
Straightening himself up a bit, he glanced to his coffee cup as he explained, "I'm just 'bout done here. Didja wanna get somethin' first? I've already eaten, but I don't mind waitin'."
"Nah, I'm good." He seemed to be in a good mood, too. That made her happy to know. He was the sort of person she always firmly believed deserved all the happiness in the universe. "Couldn't sleep when I was supposed to," she continued, explaining, "so I've been up and properly nourished all day."
Christine settled forward with her arms folded on the table, conveying a sense of waiting for him, but being in no rush. "How was your big date?"
