There was such a thing as "old school," there was such a thing as antique, and there was such a thing as ancient. Of course the former term hadn't existed in every day vernacular for over two hundred years.
Donnie sat in the observation deck with his feet propped op on the table that sad in the middle of the circular chairs. There wasn't anyone in here that he knew and the table he'd picked was rather secluded. He often didn't like looking out into the stars as it always made him feel anxious, but it was different when the ship was moving. It was as if he was looking at an abstract painting instead.
He studied his PADD with a furrowed brow. His tongue jutted out of his mouth every now and again as his fingers flashed across the screen. Shapes fell down in front of him and he twisted them to fit with the shapes that lay below. They were abstract building blocks and he was the architect. As another level disappeared his PADD gave a ping of excitement. He gave a small fistpump in the air in muted celebration.
He'd created it himself using the same basic codes from the old game, the over 200 year old game. It'd been called many generic names over the years but through extensive research he'd learned that the game he was currently playing was originally called Tetris.
So in the same way that someone from the 21st century might take up playing with a hoop and a stick he was celebrating the old time tradition of vegetation. And being a man whose brain despised being stagnant this was an impressive feat. It'd been a long day.
