Medbay - Day 20 - Closed/Unfinished

Nov 05, 2009 21:58

Not quite three weeks into the voyage, the impromptu football league that had sprung up in the engineering decks was already notorious. The rules were a matter of consensus and thus got frequently disregarded completely whenever those involved got bored of enforcing them. No referee or linesmen to speak of either.

Playing sports had always been a good stress relief. Even when she was in school, Tonia had used the ability to take her frustrations out during game time as best she could which sometimes made her a rather fierce competitor. Services had their own little soccer team as did some of the other departments on the ship giving them all good reason to have mini competitions or matches when they wanted. After spending a day in the brig, and still rather mad over the whole academics incident, having a match already arranged was just what the Yeoman needed.

What she hadn't expected was for Scotty to take her down the way he had or her already bad knee to be twisted out from under her. Again. Biting back another string of curses she leaned heavily in to the Scotsman while trying not to cry. "Two.. possibly.. if I manage not to deck 'im."

Christine looked up from rearranging hyposprays at the commotion. Unlike a lot of commotions to be had in Sickbay, though, this one was almost welcome.

"Hey, now, the last thing we need is another brawl in here," she said, closing the lid on the unit and straightening. "I've only just got Carmichael's blood off the floor." So that was a joke. But it's not like he wouldn't have deserved a worse injury that what he walked away with.

Coming over to the duo by the door, she nodded at each of them in turn. "Mister Scott. Miss Barrows."

Scotty cringed. "I already said I was sorry, didn't I? Anyway, if you will tackle a striker in overtime..." He helped Tonia over to one of the biobeds and turned to grin sheepishly at Chapel. "Sorry to be troubling you again so soon."

Getting Tonia situated on a Biobed, Christine arched an eyebrow at the unlikely pair. "Football, again?" Shaking her head and trying not to laugh, she grabbed for a scanner. "And I'm assuming it's that same knee everyone in here keeps telling you to stop abusing... Though if it's something else, it's not like it's any better."
