MakanSutra Grand Session at Michelangelo's
Yummy!! A food review but the reason i went was purely for work and not to enjoy....
This is my 3rd makan session with Makan Sutra.... None was on a personal paid meal, all at company expenses but i do get deducted for a tiny little amount as there is this culture: There are no freebies in this world! *Roll eyes*
So this is the grand ending dinner which was held at Michelangelo's and this is the most disappointing mean that i've eaten. Maybe my expectation was too high... but still, this is a $75 per pax dinner excluding the wines.....
The previous that i've join was yummlicious!!!!
Just a thought: Thank God that this wasn't paid by myself!!
1st course
Baked portobello mushroom spread with basil pesto, sliced tomato and buffalo mozzarella and arugula
At point of time when the dish is serve, it was all cold and hard. The cheese is harden and the portobello mushroom is not even juicy. i was expecting this to be all savoury but it tasted a little plain.
2nd Course
Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup hint with White Truffle Oil
The soup would be very yummy if it's hot and warm but this was served cold too. There are still shrooms bits and the truffle oils smells Mmmmmmmmm!!! The portion was so small that i thought this is a sauce, all it takes is just 3 mouthful to finish.... what a fine dining....
3rd Course
Tortellini with smoked salmon in lobster cream sauce
I waited for about 30 mins and all i get is another cold dish. The lobster cream is yummy but the smoked salmon has a little overdoze of salt. Overall, this was OK.
4th Course
Confit of pork belly paired with truffle infused mash and port wine
30mins later, i was serve another COLD COLD dish. My pork is so hard that someone commented: 'This must have been an old pig' What a way to spoil my night! But i must say that the skin is indeed very yummy....
5th Course
Roast Rib-eye served medium rare draped in red wine sauce and accompanied with potato gratin
This was the dish that made me wanna scream!! i waited for a whole hour and was serve this cold cold cut of some yucky uncooked beef.... i know it is suppose to be medium rare but this is too rare and it's tastless!!!
The final couse was a floorless chocolate cake which i was too sick to snap a photo but i am so glad that the dinner is over. The whole dinner ended at 11.45pm and never again would i want to eat there!
PS: i was so sicked that i vomitted all out upon reaching home
