I'm a stranger here myself

And now the subtitle of my blog is actually true... then.

When we touched down at Heathrow, all I could think of was a throwaway line from Robin Hood: Men in Tights: Home! Home! England! ... and I do I feel like I've come home.  People here even apologize profusely just like I do. It's nothing short of amazing.

I'll post pictures when I take some! There's no time with orientation and stuff... Just believe that the atmosphere here ranges from the quaint little apartment houses and bars and cafes in my neighborhood to the monumental Bodleian library (which I have yet to enter... HARRY!). The colleges themselves more resemble cathedrals - what is that? I live here! This is so cool!

Speaking of Harry, I have yet to do anything touristy and fangirlish - we have to hit up Christ's Church College sometime this week and find the Great Hall. Other than that, it's been a whirlwind of shopping and meeting people and orientation and pub nights - I've been here three days and it positively insane! In the best way possible, that is.

The weather is gross... but it's so pretty that I don't really mind. And my umbrella is cute.

Walking Walking Walking. Feeling so sore now because everything is at least 20 minutes away, but on the bright side, I'm definitely going to lose weight... especially when I run out of money, which I foresee happening sooner rather than later.

I also advise that if you ever visit Oxford and decide to, oh I don't know, eat there, try some Bangers and Mash at Joe's on Cowley Place. YUM! ... actually there are a lot of great places to eat around here and I can't wait to try them out... although as aforementioned there is the whole inevitably becoming broke thing, which could be quite a problem in the future.

There is also the whole pounds looking like Monopoly money thing too. And conversion. That's good fun.

I've actually just gained internet access, and then even so not really. Because I live a little bit off campus, they're having issues with the Wi-Fi and now I have to trek half an hour to the Junior Comon Room (JCR) to get online. So you may not be hearing from me for a little while.

I went clubbing last night! Me! ... there was a Meet and Greet at the JCR with drinks and music and then we walked all over creation to a club where they actually played GOOD music! We walked in to the Beastie Boys, and they played Queen, good old Bon Jovi, even the Beach Boys and Jailhouse Rock! England where have you been all my life!

It's only been a few days, but I've certainly been having a grand time meeting people and taking in the surroundings - hoping life is just as fun back in the States - I may talk to you soon!

Cheers,
Meg
