Ficcage, etc.

So The Wedding is writing itself despite my express desires not to write lately. In the last two classes of Astronomy, rather than listen to the lecture or take notes, I've been writing. And Lucius popped up today. I'm now beginning to wonder if this damn ficlet is about to grow to 5 chapters. I have about seven pages handwritten that need to be ( Read more... )

Yeeaaah, Firefox!!!

So it's not just me getting the five billion and six new icons on my desktop everytime IE is opened? Huh. Well that's reassuring. For a while there I figured this was just my computer becoming slowly but surely reinfested with viruses.

Erm, well that could be just you. I was referring to the IE icon on the desktop, on the taskbar, on the start menu. I might have exaggerated a bit.... :)

Ugh, virus infestations suck. I ran the virus scanner too, since my mother is completely incompetent when it comes to taking care of her computer and just downloads random crap.

I'm discomfited again.

My anti-virus catches a would-be infestation every so often. And when I run the scan, it always says all clear. But it's the weirdest thing, and it ONLY happens with IE. Not Netscape, not Firefox. So you can see why I gave IE a big ol' "fuck you" and went sailing into the land of Firefox. :D

Firefox is so kick ass! My bro downloaded it a couple of weeks ago -- I'd never heard of it -- and I'm a complete convert now! I really hate Microsoft. *looks shiftily at the Xbox*

A friend explained to me why Firefox is so great. He said that Internet browsers can be imagined as a sieve, with Internet Explorer having round holes and Firefox having square holes. Since most virii on the web are made to infect Explorer, they are round and pass through Explorer and are blocked by Firefox. Thus, fewer virii. I'm hooked on Firefox as well now. I can't use Explorer anymore without feeling disoriented. Looking forward to another chapter of The Wedding btw.
