#5 - APPRENTICE [EVENT]

Jan 09, 2009 23:18

Good Morning, Captives Dear Guests!

You can briefly hear somebody typing on a keyboard as the intercom turns on. There is the sound of papers shuffling in the background, before somebody taps the microphone, clears their throat, and then a young, male voice comes on.

- - -

...Aha. This is going to be awkward.

The... Host apologizes for the situation that occurred during Christmas, and the following week, and New Year's, but... Yeah.

To make it up to you for all these inconveniences, the Host has arranged a special gift for all of you, as the last one seemed to have mysteriously disappeared. Sarcasm, can you hear it? In fact! It should be waiting for you to open it in front of your room door right about... Now.

Hope you enjoy your gift!

...But please don't get carrie--

-The Apprentice

- - -

The intercom quietly shuts down. If you check your laptop, you will find a copy of this announcement inside a file named 'Announcements' found on your desktop. Even though everything in strikes was muttered under the Apprentice's breath, you can still find it written in the file.

Alright! Just as promised on the OOC comm, an event for all of you!

As mentioned before, this event has three parts and will last three weeks. It is for this reason that we have created an outline of this event for your convenience, and to make the process of explaining what this event will entail smoother.

Now, if you have read the GDoc, please note that the parts in italics have yet to happen and are merely there so you can plot your character's demise with more ease. However, there are a few things we'd like to explain regarding the "50% power boost".

The 50% power boost for non-magical characters means their greatest natural attribute increases to a supernatural extent, but nothing too crazy. For example, a naturally speedy runner will pass others like a blur, but the Flash and Road Runner would still beat him in a race. A character with natural fighting strength will finally be able to break a hotel door, mirror, or window--after a few tries. Someone with a sharp mind will be able to use telekinesis, but only, for instance, with one heavy object at a time.

50% weapon strength is trickier, but think of it as having a gun fire only half the time or fire bullets at half the normal speed, thereby weakening the damage caused. A sword would only be half as large, or half as sharp, etc.

Hopefully, this makes sense. If you have any doubts, don't worry, we shall be here until the wee hours of the morning to answer any questions you have about the limits and how it will affect your character (read; as in, if your character has an unusual weapon and you do not know how this event will affect it, you don't know to what extent they will be able to use their powers, etc.).

[ooc; If you have any questions or comments, reply to this entry but Out Of Character. Remember, this is an intercom message.]
