Checking in...
Figured I should check in since it's been awhile!
I just haven't had the time to do it....Dave and I haven't really been doing anything in particular, but somehow we're busy all evening and then BOOM! It's time to go to bed and get up and do it all over again----now I remember why I hated that part about the working world :)
I'm still working--woohoo! Still in my probation period, but I don't forsee any problems with that. The woman who is training me, Karen, was supposedly going to move to her new position in the county on Monday, but there hasn't been any definite information yet. I hope she doesn't go, because then I'll be all alone with no one to talk to! (Not to mention my annoyance with having to have someone take up my "Station" every time I have to leave for a second--even to pee)
I got my first paycheck today, so that was pretty rockin'. I cleared $507 for two weeks...ain't much, but it'll do jusssttt fine. Of course this check was a lot smaller because of a lot of one-time deductions and stuff---for example, the occupational priviledge tax here is $52. Yeouch.
I think that's all..Dave and I are considering a mini-trip this weekend, but we're not sure what to do.
Here are the options (if we think we can scrape together the money!)
#1 Go to Baltimore, MD with Dave's friend Mike to see a baseball game (Orioles, or however you spell that), hang out a bit there in Inner Harbor, have dinner at a delicious seafood place called Phillips (usually costs Dave and I about $80 to eat), and then come home.
#2 Drive to Ocean City, MD (since I've never been there and it is like, THE vacation spot for EVERYONE living in York), show me around, hang out a bit, see things, and then have dinner and drive home. This plan is a little trickier since Dave and I don't have a vehicle that's exactly appropriate for the trip.
We'll see...I want to do both, but I'm not sure how transportation will work out. His blazer sucks gas and isn't exactly in AMAZING shape, and my Eclipse needs a timing belt before I drive her ANYWHERE....guess we'll have to see what happens.
