There are certain things a girl expects from her father. I guess some aspects vary depending from family to family, but most of them are essentially universal. A father is supposed to protect his children from harm, to take care of them, not use them to take care of himself.
My father forced me into a desperate situation. Maybe, later on, I dug my own grave, in the terms of the Winchesters and everything that happened with those two, but honestly? That all never would have happened if my father had been an actual father instead of a pedophile. I could have actually stood a chance at being happy with myself, or with my job-I could have had a life. Instead, I spent most of my life running and alienating anyone who’d ever tried to help me because I didn’t want to rely on them the way I relied on my father, or the way I relied on Lilith. I can take care of myself, but-no one can handle everything on their own. I learned that much.
Fact of the matter is, my father made me what I was today. Problem wasn’t that he didn’t give me enough hugs-it was that he gave me too many.
