Is it just me, or is there way too much going on in the US and around the world, for Pres. Obama to be pushing health care reform?
The unemployment rate has reached 10%. 10% of all Americans do not have jobs!
Social security is going down the crapper. It pains me to see that I've obligatorily donated over $700 this year alone to my "social security account for the future."
The war in the middle east is STILL going on, despite its lack of news coverage.
North Korea is doing suspicious things with missiles.
Supposedly the stimulus bill is "beginning to work" (I don't know what on) but my grandchildren will still be repaying the trillion dollar deficit.
And I'm sure there's plenty more that's swept under the rug. Health care reform is the main topic of the news coverage, and arguably rightly so, because it's HUGE.
A big, fat, huge project that they are adamantly pushing for to become official very, very soon.
Now, I have a lot of qualms with this nationalized health care business, but this is the core issue: the government does not exactly have the greatest credibility when it comes to their "projects." In fact, most of their "projects" are what cause the huge problems later on! Handing over my health care to the power-hungry, money-motivated, corrupted government. This time, it feels personal.
I could go on and ON about how bad this is. And especially during a time when there is so much more going on here than just the recession. It almost feels as though they're doing this on purpose, to keep people confused, or just plain overwhelmed that they just throw up their hands in agitated compliance. Or worse, the oblivious surrender: "Let's just see how it goes"...and then it's too late.
