The new AO3 servers need names! They (we?) have a poll to name them, from the final top 10 selections.
Vote early, vote often!
This is relevant to Eroica fans because Bonham is in the running for the database slave - or loyal sidekick, if you prefer. :D The guy who knows his tech stuff and makes things work, without expecting to be in the spotlight. A vote for Bonham is a vote for the everyday guy!
Of course, there are so many choices for each of the machines, I'm conflicted myself.
Eowyn & Eomer, or Luke & Leia, for the Rails twins? Ada Lovelace or Kara "Starbuck" Thrace for the super-fast database server? (No points for guessing which I picked, though. ♥ Starbuck.)
I can't imagine anything else than the TARDIS for the storage server (it's bigger on the inside! the hordes of Genghis Khan couldn't break down its doors!), but the switch? Jack Harkness seems like a natural choice, and yet, Uhura does too. (Although, Jack mostly due to his frivolous ways, and Uhura due to professionalism, so YMMV. *g*) And there's also Hedwig, another brave communications officer of sorts.
