Rice Family - part the fourth

Jan 03, 2009 21:02

Previously -

Sam was eye-blindingly cute
He had a few worrying snow-farting moments
He also finally outgrew his pink pajamas and aged to child
Everybody was damn adorable and cute because this is the damn cutest family I have ever had

Let's start with a total lack of cute. The nanny shat me to tears, so she had an "accident". Then another one turned up and there was a repeat of the unfortunate Naomi incident from Life Stories (a satellite fell on her). And I said "chaching! here's a cool thou and a bit!" I now have the beginnings of a neighbourhood cemetery.

Yes, I am that cruel.

Those who hang out on S2C will have already seen these. Basically, here's what happens when a sim with maxed creativity gets a hold of a karaoke microphone. S/He goes all rock star!

That's Jeff, by the way. There hasn't been an update on this family in about 2 months so I figure nobody remembers these sims' names :)

There were no trees on the lot so burning telescope it is.

Then Claudia went shopping and met Robert Stanton. Score! I was hoping these two families would be friendly with each other.

Yes, I did get the pregnant sims wear anything hack... Why do you ask?

She's freaking HUGE! That's post pop #1. She was something like 30 hours along there, meaning just post pop #1 and a good 20 hours before pop #2. I never got the second pop, she was just humungous throughout.

The telescope was still burning when she came back home.

Once the rain put it out, I chucked it into Claudia's inventory. I have gift-giving plans for that telescope. I also have a new multi-PT hack and a weird curiosity about what Robert Stanton would look like pregnant. And since the Stantons don't have enough money to buy a 'scope of their own... I know you can see where this is all going. You are all bright folks.

I wanted to take a cute picture of Sam cheering for his A+.

I got stuck face and goggle eyes instead.

Charming.

No update would be complete without a picture of a pregnant Claudia abusing the karaoke machine. She still can't sing for love nor money.

I finally figured out how to do the "read Sam to sleep" interaction. Most sweet.

I gave them a small plot out the front of the house. Both Jeff and Claudia are fantastic gardeners. Neither has a gold badge and at least half the tomato plants are actually thriving!

I don't have Paladin's cheaty sprayer either ;) Seriously. I don't.

For real.

And then Claudia went goggle-eyed and little Jake was born.

He has Jeff's caterpillar brows <3

New nanny!

They just kept turning up. I was sure that I had fired that first one that got herself plagued to death. Claudia was preggers and Sam is a child and can get leftovers from the fridge so I didn't need a nanny.

Anyway - meet the new nanny, courtesy of the new adult nanny hack.

I lost faith in the hack when she did this after feeding Jake.

But then she quickly redeemed herself :)

Sorry about the overly bright picture but the front of the house is ultra sunny and I'm not sure what to so about it.

Damn Family sims!

So NOW you're happy coming home from school!

Oh, I see!!!

I'm happy, too! Hi there, Phoebe Stanton!

I'm already planning the wedding :P

I was totally not decorating the house before I took pictures of these two playing.

I swear to you those planters, painting and shelves were there all along!

(hides pictures from previous updates)

And THAT shelf and painting were there all along, too.

It was at this point that I realised the Rices had something like 20K in the bank and no furniture...

Hence the schmexy bedroom overhaul.

I took a whole lot of pictures using the in-game camera and then realised I did it all in Buy Mode and all of them got erased. I'll double up using Gadwin next time. I just wanted rectangular pictures and couldn't be bothered lining them up then going into Options to get rid of action queues, etc.

Jeff acts like a Family sim some more.

The nanny acts like a nanny.

Look! Curtains!

Sam tests out the new pool.

I told you they had loads of money in the bank!

Jake had a birthday somewhere along the way.

The bane of the second child - you never have your milestones documented. Not like the first-born!

Claudia earned the silver gardening badge in less than a week.

This picture must have been taken around Christmas (real time) because Jeff is doing the "sun salute". Yes, I got M&G from Father Christmas!

After a 2 month break I couldn't remember what pictures I had taken and I was worried I didn't have many pictures of Jake. So here is a short toddler spam. Even though the picture shortage was actually not that bad because I last played just after he aged to toddler.

I'm trying to figure out if he looks a whole lot like Sam or not.

Also - I had to cheat and change his personality. I forgot to rerandomise sim generator and Jake got the same personality as Sam. So I changed it in SimPE. His eyebrows and facial features are different, so he's not a physical clone. I don't think that's how firstborn syndrome works. I think it works by assigning the same personality but the looks end up slightly different.

And finally, here's Claudia enjoying the new pool. They also have a playground and a gazebo. The yard needs loads more landscaping but 20K stretches only so far - what with a heap of new furnityre, a playground, gazebo and pool, all newly built.

There will be a Veronaville Asylum update tomorrow (Sunday) or Monday. I'm almost done with week 3.

27 pictures under the cut.
