Maxis Taste Dare 007 - Veronaville Asylum (Day 1)
I decided to participate in Dare 007 on maxis_taste. Everybody else and everything else I'm working on will be back at the end of November - unless the Asylum burns down really quickly or my controllable gets killed in a new and interesting way before he can reach his LTW.
Here's how this thing goes: apart from the fact that the sims participating in this particular asylum have pre-existing (hate) relationships, this is going to be like any other asylum challenge. They have 5 beds, 6 chairs and a stove. They have no skill points thanks to debug mode. I have set everyone up with a secondary aspiration and I have assigned everyone's aspiration reward points because otherwise Free Time would own my ass in about 5 minutes, as everyone spiralled into total need failure within hours of arriving at the asylum. Unfortunately the tweaks are necessary. Everyone also got a makeover.
The residents are living in beatdoc16's The Quinn. It's actually got one bedroom more than they need :P Kitchen counters and all exterior decorating by beatdoc16. I did the rest of the interior decorating (ie. placing chairs, beds, deco items, etc).
Please excuse me while I fumble around and forget everyone's names. Including my controllable's. Yes, I'm actually having to go and look up his name because I never play this hood and things were so hectic on the first day, I actually managed to totally forget just about everybody's names. Because, as we all know from the Darcy total update failure - I suck at this updating stuff.
Here are the residents. If I forget someone's name - I'll go back and edit this post with the correct name later.
Oberon Gossamer - is engaged to Titania.
Titania Summerdream - is causing Shakespeare to turn over in his grave. Are fairy queens supposed to have freckles?
Bianca Monty - apart from Isabella (behind her), she gets the title of Biggest Bitch as far as Day 1 is concerned.
Old Dude Monty - yeah, I forgot his name. He's pretty quiet. Probably because his wife is such a firecracker.
Isabella Monty - aka Psycho Bitch From Hell. Starts more fights than she can finish.
Albany Capp - keeps to himself. Married to Goneril.
Goneril Capp - married to Albany, eats lemons for snacks.
And finally:
Kent Capp (yeah, I looked it up) - aka "the controllable". Has a tendency to scratch his pits but is otherwise not a bad sort.
And we're off to a running start, with Goneril giving as good as she gets - Bianca started this one.
That little slap-fest enraged Isabella, who promptly launched herself at Goneril.
And lost.
Kent was trying to put the moves on Bianca. Isabella was trying to salvage her bruised ego. And the paperboy was just trying to get out of the madhouse.
Apparently poking wasn't enough - Isabella tried to claw out Kent's eyes.
You've been here for something like 2 hours, people!!!
Isabella lost again. I have the fight club mod from MATY. She will learn from this and kick some ass later, probably.
Kent seems to enjoy beating up old ladies a little bit too much...
So I have him round up the warring factions for a good old hang out. A couple of the enemies red face thingies floated up crossed out, so enemy status has been removed from some of the peace talk participants.
This was at 11 am. 3 hours on the lot and you're already worrying. You're going to be a source of much hilarity problem, aren't you, Albany?
Regan Capp escaped from the sim bin just to steal their newspaper.
Oh, yeah - Kent wants to maximise all skills so he doesn't need a job. Enjoy the crossword, Regan!
These two were the first to take advantage of the facilites.
Regan decided that a stolen newspaper was not enough. She would bring a plague down upon the head of Binaca.

I love having a piano in the house. Ensures easy creativity points as every man and his dog rushes in to abuse tinkle the ivories.
These two are totally oblivius to everything going on around them. I wonder how long that will last?
Goneril got trapped on the stool as Old Man Monty went whoop ass on Kent.
I'm not doing a very good job of controlling the controllable...
Once released from the stool, Goneril then tracked down Isabella.
So Old Man Monty came over and followed her around the room, poking and slapping until they'd both had enough.
Bianca just stayed outside, earning money for discovering new stars and galaxies, etc. She's pretty adorable when she's not being a bitch.
Yeah - the adorable didn't last all that long. Can't remember who attacked whom that time.
That's got to hurt!!!

That's as far as I got in the first game play session. I'm hoping for a mild autumn (fall) as Kent needs to get his body skill up as high as possible during that season - they only have a pool (I couldn't be bothered taking it out just to put in exercise equipment and now I will pay for my laziness) and it takes aaaaagggggeeeeessss to earn body skill in the pool, especially the later skill points.
I'm just waiting for someone to earn the first cooking skill point and for the fires to begin... At least Kent doesn't need to work so they may have a chance of not burning to a crisp within the first week. Then again - they'll probably start a rumble in the middle of the flames.
