Peony wanted to wake up, more than anything he wanted the images of his best friend, gravely injured to go away. He only got relief from those images while he was awake, but he couldn't seem to wake himself up. The scenes continued to play over and over in his mind, almost drawing whimpers from his lips, but not quite getting him that far.
But welcome relief came soon, as he felt a hand upon his shoulder, shaking him. Even more relief as he heard Jade's voice calling him to wakefulness. Images dissipating, he slowly blinked his eyes open, tears blurring his vision momentarily before he managed to focus them upon the features of his closest friend.
How Jade had gotten into bed with him, or how the cuffs that he now saw connected them got there in the first place, he didn't care. Jade was here. In one motion, he sat himself up, cuffed hand clutching to Jade's shoulder as his other found it's way around Jade's back, forehead pressed to the Colonel's shoulder as he breathed out in a shaking voice, "Thank Lorelei you're alright..." He didn't really think Jade would hear him...
