Fast asleep, and unaffected by even the dim light that had begun to pour through the windows into his room, Peony simply shifted slightly in his position. But something about his sleep this time wasn't like normal. He wasn't about to wake up, but despite that tears still ran down his cheeks as he slept, his expression even appearing much less relaxed than it should for one who was asleep. He almost appeared to be in pain, not of the physical nature, but of the emotional sort, body even trembling ever so slightly as he was obviously lost within the depths of a nightmare that seemed entirely unwilling to let go of him.

Jade turned slightly as he felt the light tremble of Peony's body, he was asleep, wasn't he? Otherwise, he most likely would have greeted Jade by now, unless he was still cross with him. ...Although normally Peony wasn't the sort to have those. If anything, during their childhood, there would be the occasional dream of being stuck in Keterburg, but that was the extent of it. Never did it go this far before. Debating between waking up him, which might disturb him, or letting him continue to suffer in this dream. After a bit of thought, the choice was clear.

The Colonel put his hand on Peony's shoulder and shook him lightly, unsure of any other way to wake him. "Your Majesty?" he inquired, as if the physical movement wasn't enough to wake the sleeping emperor.

Peony wanted to wake up, more than anything he wanted the images of his best friend, gravely injured to go away. He only got relief from those images while he was awake, but he couldn't seem to wake himself up. The scenes continued to play over and over in his mind, almost drawing whimpers from his lips, but not quite getting him that far ( ... )
