Yesterday was a great day, because I got to take a day off from work and do something I haven't done in forever: have a great day with my friends.
After church, we dropped off cars at Jesse and Jenna's house, and then made our way into Brockport to get a quick lunch at Wendy's. From there, we headed over to the Verratti Farm. We hung out inside and chatted for a little bit, and then Anna' brother Jeremy took us out to the farm to give us a guided tour. I've personally seen the farm several times, but Jesse and Jenna haven't, so I think they enjoyed it. We got to see some cows, some pigs, some goats, some tractors, the milking parlor, and a bunch of other stuff that had a bunch of farm lingo to it that I don't know.
After that, we headed over to Brewhaus for a much needed caffeine fix. We were all starting to drag our feet a little (since most of us were at chuch before 7:30 in the morning), so an executive decision was made for a Brewhaus trip.
Then we headed over to my parents' house, where we watched Andre Agassi really give Roger Federer (a kid almost half his age) a real run for his money. Ultimately Agassi lost, but he played probably one of the best games of his career. So we spent a little time over there and shot the breeze, but then we decided it was time for the capstone of the trip: Mighty Taco.
Jesse and Jenna had never eaten Mighty Taco, so it was absolutely imperative that we took them for the finest Mexican cuisine north of the border. Jesse said he was skeptical at first, but has now become a true believer.
From there, we decided that we really needed to get outside and do some moving around, because we had eaten so much fast food, especially Mighty Taco. So we headed on over to Wide Waters and did the Advanced Timber Challenge trail along the canal. Chris led us from Wide Waters all the way to the locks, with a short cut through Scalzo Park. Scalzo Park at 9:30 definitely looks like somewhere that you sit in the movie theater telling the people in the movie not to enter, because there is a guy wearing a hockey mask about to disembowel them. But we made it out alive.
From there we made the trek all the way back to the car and decided to head home for the night. This was definitely one of the best days I've had in awhile, and I hope we get to do it again soon.
Hanging out at the Verratti crib.
This is pretty much what Chris does every time he goes to the Verrattis'. He sprawls out on the couch, eats some ice cream, and watches the Verratti family live their lives, which is actually very funny at times.
Here's one of the newer baby heifers at the farm.
This is a Brown Swiss cow, which was bought by Anna's brother Daniel. It's different than their other cows, that's why her picture's here.
Jesse is Dr. Doolittle.
Jesse's ready to do some killin' with Jeremy's African spear.
You take my picture, I take yours.
Those were comfy couches.
Yup, a picture of feet.
Anna's enjoying a Vanilla Frozen Cappuccino.
Ehh, you kinda had to be there to understand why this picture is here.
Yes.
Chris loves him some tacos.
Yup.
Chris is pondering our next destination.
Anna was very thirsty.
Yup, I got him again.
We told Chris that if he fell in, he'd be spending the night in Lockport.
Mmm hmm.
Yep, always gotta get one of these in, plus there's been no actual proof that I was there.
Chris and Jesse conqering the rings.
Chris took a little brake in the middle of the parallel bars.
Take a look at the title of this picture. Those were the first words out of his mouth when he got up there.
Yup, climbing the ladder.
Chris on the rock that he jumped to. We thought he was going in for sure.
We took a little rest here, and they made Anna and I re-enact when I tried to propose to her. It was a try because a homeless guy set up shop right behind us when I was about to pop the question.
Chris and Jesse discussing the more important things in life.
Yeah, Jesse looks kind of creepy in the background of this one.
I couldn't see anything in the viewfinder of my camera, so I just hit zoom and took a picture, this is what came out.
The underside of the Lockport trellace in Scalzo Park.
And this is what I did as soon as I got home.
