Church was awesome today!! Why you ask? Let me answer that with the following illustrated narrative:
Well, first of all, this guy was back. Pastor Mark was well enough to come and play bass and deliver a dynamite message on Worship.
Then, the worship band got to rock out today. The whole service was about Worship, so Mark delivered an awesome message, and the band weaved the worship set into the message at appropriate times. We didn't just get up there at the beginning of the service and play our set, we got to stay up there, and use the songs to aid in the teaching, it was really great. The band was really on today too, I'm really blessed to be able to lead a team of such talented musicians and singers.
Finally, this guy showed up for church. For those of you who don't know who he is, this is Jesse Sprinkle. If you still don't know who that is, go Google his name, you'll probably pull up his impressive drumming resume, which includes, but is not limited to Poor Old Lu, Dead Poetic, and Demon Hunter. He also has a handful of solo records out there. He's friends with this family that goes to our church. As if I wasn't nervous enough about the service, I had this guy sitting right in front of me. He was really cool though, very easy to talk to. Yes, I geeked out in front of him, because hey, that's what I do best. But at least he was willing to get his picture taken with Jesse and I (yes, there are two people in this picture named Jesse for those of you who don't know). All in all, a great morning....
