So it's been a while. In the past week everything has broken apart and come together in a very nice way. I got a job, at a bar called Rock Candy. I also got an apartment, one block from the Lorimer L station. I have a callback for that salon I had an interview to manage this coming Tuesday, too, so the good news keeps on coming in ( Read more... )

It's allll inbound. Pretty much a win-all because most of the women who call know what they want, as they're skincare whores like us. I got started at $12/hr and then if you make your sales goal you get like 1% commission.. which is actually a lot.

You can basically count on between $1000 to $2000 in commission each month if you make your goal. On a full day you're supposed to pull in about $8,000-10,000.. which is very possible since in the midst of having to deal with an overflow of customer service calls (not typical.. due to system upgrade), I still got $4000 in sales my first day on the phones.

Aaand.. benefits. Health insurance after six months that is dirt cheap monthly compared to what you and I shell out. After 90 days you get a 40-65% discount on products. And immediately you get the Starwood discount, which is paying a rate of $29, $49 or $69 per night for a W Hotel, Westin or Sheraton room stay.

It's a cool job. Laid-back and all.. everyone is nice.. if you've delt with people like you and I.. all the customers are a piece of cake. And the office moves from Brooklyn (Dumbo) to Soho by the end of the month :)

Badass. I am actually going to be applying on-line (since I have seen that is the only way to do so) this afternoon.

Thanks for the head's up on this one. I totally need a happy environment to work in, and this one sounds totally like that kind of place. Six months isn't so bad considering last time I did it, I had to wait nine before I got it. And my health insurance now expires in December anyways so it would be perfect.

Thank you sooo much for the info. You rock, as usual!

Goodness.

Thank you, kindly.

I sent the resume in yesterday afternoon, though the drop down selection which I chose was customer service--which was probably not right, on second thought.
