Some things that will go neglected unless I mention them now:
1-My presentation from December on religion. The side-notes are not included; but you can make up a lecture as you read it!

2-Saw Cloverfield yesterday. It ended as I would have any story end: - EVERYBODY DIES. Needless to say, it (the aforementioned ending) was done nearly flawlessly. I was quite happy with it, but I'll admit I had to look away from the screen a few times because of the super shaky-cam.
But really, it was one of the best monster movies that I've seen in a long time. Maybe ever. I loved the monster(s) and the absolute terror and pain and irrationality and death and grotesqueness of it all. I wasn't overly gory or hyperviolent (r.e., Rambo), it was pretty quint. Not a whole lot of jumping out at you scary shit, more like "Oh God! Is it terrorists?" and "Holy shit what the fuck is that thing OH MY GOD THE ARMY IS EVERYWHERE AND MONSTERS JESUS CHRIST!" scary. Like, constantly tense (I believe the term is intensity) scary. Just awesome.
I think I also appreciated that it didn't have a soundtrack. There was a really cool industrial sounding song at the end that's reminiscent of an old monster movie soundtrack (like a theremin sound), but it was just noisy and gritty and rockin'.
But really. Go see it. Like, I Am Legend go see it. Like, you might emotionally collapse at the end of it go see it.
