Hunters HQ, R&D Wing

Well, this could've been worse I suppose.

There was no getting Gate out of his own little R&D domain these days; just about every other staff member had finally adjusted to the fact. X had beaten them to the punch years ago, of course ~

Poor bastard. I remember when he did this because it was convenient and vaguely amusing.

In you go ~

Gate had staggered back into their own dimension some hours earlier, looking even more wild-eyed than usual and easily three or four days short of sustenance and sleep. Without so much as a twitch, X had waded into the ensuring melee, shooed away the junior labrats and carried the slender ice-blonde away to his own workrooms.

There was no getting Gate in a charging-pod while he was erratic; he'd half-destroyed the last one. So there it was; X pumped a chemical cocktail of energized nutrients and sedative nanites into his semiconscious friend, and arranged him in the well-worn wickerwork chair / nest / futon / overstuffed monstrosity tucked away in a corner of Gate's lab.

:: Get some sleep. I won't let the kiddies anywhere near her. ::

The faintest of incoherent responses drifted from the curled-up blonde; X sighed, and plunked himself at the nearest available countertop to start drafting out an explanation to Signas before all hell broke loose.
