Now Or Never For dealing_death

It felt like forever since they had met that night Selene kept Sam’s ass from being arrested. Since that take they had spent that night at the carnival, various nights in and out of the Grid and their places. Sam had never felt happier with things at the moment. The way they play fought, had fun and just relaxed around one another was like nothing Sam could ever say he had with any woman. With Selene it just seemed to fit.

It was these little things that made him realize how much he was in love in with her. He’d spent that night she opened up to him about Aggie just holding her and comforting her when no one else was there to be that person she needed. He didn’t do it because he had to but because Sam wanted to. He was in love and knew Selene wasn’t as broken as she thought she was. She loved him back and that’s all Sam ever wanted. Nothing was going to come between them not with how much they loved one another. This was without a doubt the best decision he had ever made.

There was a thousand ways to try and make this as perfect as Sam wanted it to be but in the end he know whichever one he picked wouldn’t be as perfect enough. With one arm resting against the wall which held the digital window to Sam’s apartment he watches Selene stare at the beauty that was his fathers and now his creation. The lights from this world filled the sky with a powerful blue glow and the fireworks from the stadium exploded with patterns you could never in the real world. It was still breath taking, even now. Much like Selene.

Sam knew she could probably hear or sense him watching her but didn’t care. He continued to stare at her beauty against the glow of the sky for what felt like never enough time and then walked towards her. With no words exchanged he tilted her face to look at him and kissed with a passion he knew would never die out between them. It wasn’t until the kiss ended that he rested his forehead against hers, Sam’s eyes staring into hers without hesitation as his hand removed the small black box from his pocket and held it open for her to see. Although his nerves were on fire and his heart raced he kept his calm on the outside. He took a deep breath before he spoke in his usual deep warm voice.

“I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life. Marry me Selene.
