So... I did this originally for Loni's Scarf Sisters thing, however, I
finally took a lot of pictures of me and where I live and some of who I
hang out with and I thought maybe you guys might like to see them, so I
decided to post them here too. And, as a little background for the
Scarf Sisters thing, basically a bunch of us are keeping a scarf for a
week and writing about our adventures with it, and I decided to throw
in the added bonus of putting some pictures in.
My week with Scarf was an eventful one. For the first part of the week,
I took Scarf to work with me an used it to play peekaboo with the
kiddies. There were many admirers of Scarf. The mothers that brought
their children in, the children themselves, my coworkers, my
classmates, and last but not least, my friend Amy. On Friday, I took
the Scarf up into the mountains to Cripple Creek to see a friend.
That's when I came up with the idea that I should do a photo diary of
the adventures Scarf and I had from then on!
This one was taken on the main street of Cripple Creek with a gorgeous
sunset in the background... Scarf loved it there. There was lots of
gambling.
However, it wasn't until Saturday that Scarf and I really started
having an adventure. I went with my friend Amy and her friend Alan
downtown to go paint pottery, however, we couldn't seem to find the
place... Alan stopped to ask Cowboy Hank for directions...
As you can see, Hank also had a thing for Scarf, so we let him try her
on. However, Hank couldn't find the map to the pottery painting place
in his big book, so we had to continue on...
As we were searching for this place, I noticed Amy intensely admiring Scarf, so I let her try her on...
She looked MAH-VELOUS! However... She wasn't doing a good job of watching where she was going and soon ran into a wall...
Ouch... That's gotta hurt... After Amy peeled herself off the wall, we continued on in search of the pottery place.
Suddenly, I had an idea!
Let's ask that little magical boy for some help!
The little magical boy said that he wished he could help us, but that
he lost his turban, the source of all his magic... So Scarf, with her
magical powers and infinite wisdom agreed to function as a turban to
help the boy regain his magical powers! But for all his magic potions
and powers, he could not help us find the pottery painting place. :-(
So we continued on through downtown...
Soon we had to take a break... And where did we take a break at? Why Starbucks of course!
Mmmmm... Scarf loves Starbucks!
Soon we stopped into a costume shop to look at Halloween costumes and were confronted by a ghoul!
...Who also happened to know how to get to the pottery painting shop!
So we followed his instructions, but it was a trick! We were soon
attacked by a giant red cube that was ravaging the downtown area! *gasp*
Scarf immediately jumped on my head, using her magical powers to turn me into a ninja to defeat the horrid red cube!
We continued on in our search for the pottery painting place, and soon
came upon a lady named Freedom. She was a little... TOO free...
So Scarf did a nice job of covering her up. Gotta wonder about the ones
walking half naked around downtown. Well, I guess that's not entirely
true. That happens every Friday and Saturday nights when the liquor is
flowing...
We continued on to find a bear who seemed friendly enough...
However, he was not a magical talking bear. He could only hold up his sign in silence. Sad sad bear.
We continued down Kiowa Street, and soon came upon a chef who was
looking for a pot holder... Scarf volunteered her services, but the
chef found her unsatisfactory...
But he gave her a thumbs up for spunk.
Finally, we came upon a building that Amy SWORE was the pottery
painting place, but it had gone out of business. :-( A lone snowman
taunted us for all our troubles.
The adventure wasn't over yet though!
In our defeat, we wandered into the downtown Acacia Park where Scarf was able to run and frolic in the leaves!
Scarf loves fall!!!
Scarf also made a new friend... She was seen holding hands with Alan.
Awwww!!!
Finally, the four of us decided to take a little trip up to the Garden of the Gods.
I hope you guys know that I really miss you all!!! But having this
little adventure was probably the best time I've had since I've been
here... Why? Because it's exactly the random kinda shit I know we'd
undertake if I were back in Denton!
I miss you all!!! And this is me blowing you all a kiss if you can't tell...
If there was any doubt in your minds that I'm insane, there isn't one
now. :-p However, I will say that Amy, Alan, and I really had a blast
doing this.We really were running around downtown looking for the
pottery painting place, and it really did turn out to be closed down. I
haven't spent that much time downtown since I've been here, and it was
kinda fun going out and exploring.
Anyway, I miss you guys, and I hope you enjoyed my silly little story!
