There are some days I feel like everything in teaching is marvelous. Like we started penpals with a kindergarten class because we have mail delivered within the school to the different classes, and my kids are enjoying it and the kindergarten teacher's class is enjoying it too.
But then there is this parent and her kid in my class. Basically, I despise this kid with every passing day. I have never disliked a kid like this one. Major personality clash. There are kids that have annoyed me, ones that have been really bad, but I still could find something to chuckle about with them.
You are crazy, my friend. Though, you would be a pretty amazing history teacher. You have a contagious passion for history that I think could be passed on to your students, and you would try to make it interesting for them. I know *I* would love to have you as a teacher. :)
As a teacher of adolescents, which I've been doing for the better part of 10 years, I can honestly tell you that it does get better. As with all things, it has its ups and downs - and some crops of students are more challenging than others. In time, I've found, you learn to gain a balance in this profession of "human beings
