1. Get your picture. I used
this one of the gorgeous Gaspard Ulliel.
2. Do the basics. Crop, sharpen, and resize it. I usually like to do 65x65 for this. For this picture, I used
this coloring, but you can do whatever you want.
3. Now you can either make your own background or be lazy like me and just choose a texture. I'm gonna use
by
seriouslywir.
4. Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool (
if you dont know) And make some rectangular shape (damn, i'm using math) slightly bigger than the picture. Make a new layer, drag it so its under the picture, and fill it in with a color, preferely white.
5. Go to Layer >> Layer Style >> Drop Shadow. I used
these settings. I didnt really change much from what the default settings for drop shadow usually are, I just didnt want the shadow to be too strong.
6. Time for text. The font I used was Cairo, which has srsly become my favorite font at the moment. Again, I used drop shadow for the text because the text seemed to plain for my taste. Then go to Edit >> Free Transform (or ctrl+t) and turn around the text a bit. Move the text to one of the corners of the picture.
7. Make a new layer and drag it under the text but over the picture. Now use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and make another rectangular shape again. Try to make it, more or less, the same size as the text. Go to Edit >> Free Transform (ctrl+t) again and turn it around until you like its angle. I dont like having the same angle as the text because it just doesnt seem to look as cool.
And now you're done!
Remember that everything depends on the picture you're using, so change the settings the the way you want too to get the right coloring :)
