After successfully disarming Harry while practicing with Dumbledore's Army, Neville's confidence grew. He was able to best several other students, including Ron, Cho, and Dean. Their admiration bolstered his self esteem and determination. Not even losing to Harry the second time they squared off rattled Neville's newfound composure. It was Harry, after all.
"You did great today," said Harry, clapping Neville on the shoulder. "How do you feel?"
"Good," Neville replied, grinning in delight. "Amazing, actually."
Harry nodded. "That's what I hoped would happen. Now I want you to channel that feeling while you work on casting a Patronus Charm."
