Niko was working over a hanging bag on one side of our converted garage apartment while I was watching TV and working my way through a bag of Cheetos in the living area. Goodfellow walked through the door like he owned the place. He could pick our lock quicker than I could open it with my key. The bastard. As he was our friend, Niko had once given him a key, but Robin liked to keep his skills sharp.
I may as well not have existed for all the attention Goodfellow paid me. He settled onto the other end of the couch, eyes intent on my brother. He reminded me of a predator getting ready to pounce. My heightened sense of smell detected pheromones wafting off of him. He was becoming aroused. Jesus. Not that he had a chance with Niko. It annoyed Robin that my brother was utterly immune to him.
"Give it up, Robin," I snorted. "Nik is straight."
"So he says," mused Robin. "Perhaps if I got him tipsy, he'd lower his inhibitions and be willing to bend a little."
"Like that will happen," I said around a mouthful of cheesy goodness. "One, Nik rarely drinks, and two, the only time I ever knew him to overindulge he didn't change at all." That had been disappointing.
"Your brother is curious, however, and he does love to learn. I could teach him a thing or two."
My mind had locked up while Goodfellow was talking about seducing my brother. I blinked and looked at him. "What?"
Robin patted my leg. "Just because you aren't getting laid doesn't mean Niko should do without."
"He's not doing without," I said. "He has Promise." His vampire lady friend. Robin's relentless pursuit of Niko bothered her far more than it did Nik.
"He also has that streak of curiosity."
Niko stopped slamming kicks into the hanging bag and aimed a glare our way. "I'm right here," he said. "Goodfellow, if you've shown up hoping for action, I'm not interested. Ask Cal if he's willing."
"Ugh." I gave a full body shudder and scooted farther away from Robin.
Robin smirked at me and waggled his eyebrows. I was reaching for the knife up my sleeve in case I had to fend him off when he let me off the hook.
He turned his leer to Niko and said, "You know I prefer blonds."
