Summary: Draco gets one over on Harry.
Draco jotted something in his pregnancy journal, paused a moment to gather his thoughts, then resumed writing. He'd gotten into the habit of writing in his journal each evening. Draco only wished he could get Harry to write in his journal more often. He felt it was important to keep a record of their journey into fatherhood. It was something their children would treasure once they were older, and Harry should take the task more seriously.
A mumble from the other end of the sofa caught Draco's attention. He looked up to see Harry staring at a catalog of baby toys and scowling at it as if it had somehow offended him. Of course, these days Harry found fault with many things, including tepid tea, burnt toast, and the smell of onions.
"What has you in such a strop?" asked Draco, closing his journal and setting it to the side. His hand was getting a cramp from writing, and he welcomed the break.
Harry raised his gaze to Draco's and shook his head. "You wouldn't believe the ridiculous things they have in here for babies. Miniature, battery-powered luxury cars, life-size dolls...Why, they even sell a xylophone!"
"For babies?!"
"My thoughts, exactly," muttered Harry. He tossed the catalog onto the coffee table with a disgusted snort. Harry yawned and reached beneath his shirt to scratch his expanding stomach.
Draco couldn't resist heckling him. "We should get the babies a xylophone," he said, managing to keep a straight face.
"Are you mad?!" Harry was completely aghast at the mere suggestion.
Draco laughed, and Harry's scowl deepened. "Wanker," he grumbled, stretching out his leg to prod Draco's thigh with his toes.
Pleased that he'd gotten one over on Harry, Draco grinned at him before he grew thoughtful again. "Perhaps when they're older, the children can take piano lessons," he said. "I'd like them to develop an aptitude for music."
"If they show an interest in music, sure," said Harry. "We're not going to force them to take lessons unless they want to."
"How will they know whether or not they'll enjoy it if they don't at least try it?" countered Draco.
"Wait. Are we discussing music or broccoli?"
