Summary: Harry is in a celebratory mood.
Harry didn't argue about buying Ethel a dozen scones. He'd have gladly bought her a hundred or more, he was that thrilled to have secured a date with Draco Malfoy. Once Ethel made her selections and tottered away with her companion, Harry asked Malfoy to box up some pastries for his Auror team. He was in the mood to celebrate.
Malfoy pulled a bakery box from beneath the counter, one that featured the Dragon Brew logo, and began to fill it with scones, rolls, and fairy cakes.
"Add an extra teacake or two for Hermione," said Harry. "Her assistance was invaluable to our success last night."
"Saint Potter, always taking care of others."
Since Malfoy had a smile on his face when he said that, Harry didn't take offense. Instead, he leaned over the counter and lowered his voice. "That's an attribute that translates to other areas of my life as well."
Malfoy's pupils dilated, and his tongue darted out to wet his lower lip. His lashes fluttered, and he opened his mouth, apparently intent on flirting back.
"Mr Malfoy!" Lynsey exclaimed from the back. "We're almost out of your homebrew!"
Both Harry and Malfoy sighed in disappointment, then looked at one another and chuckled.
"I'll see you tomorrow evening, Potter," said Malfoy, pushing the box of sweets across the counter to Harry.
"I may stop in again tomorrow morning," said Harry. He counted out enough money to pay for all of the extras he'd purchased, then dropped the change in Luna's donation jar. "I find your coffee and other delicacies irresistible."
"Mm, is that so?"
Harry grinned. "It certainly-"
"Mr Malfoy? Oh, sorry," Lynsey apologized from where she was peering around the corner. "I didn't realize you two were making eyes at one another again."
"Ahem, I was just leaving," Harry mumbled. His ears felt hot, and he hoped he wasn't blushing. He looked at Malfoy and added, "I'll see you tomorrow night, if not sooner, yeah?"
"Yeah," Malfoy responded with a smile.
"Oh sweet Circe!" cried Lynsey. "Are you two going on a date?!"
Every head in Dragon Brew turned their way. Harry cleared his throat. "Er, yes?"
Lynsey beamed at him. "Finally!"
