Summary: When you're stuck in the barn while it rains cats and dogs, how do you pass the time?

Harry glanced up from cleaning tack and looked out through the open door to the stable. It was beginning to drizzle outside. Harry turned to Draco and said, "I hope you've been saving your sickles for a rainy day."

"I happen to like rainy days," Draco responded with an easy shrug. He finished polishing Copper's bridle and hung it back on its peg. The mare poked her head over her stall door and whickered. Draco pulled a carrot from his pocket and fed it to her. Burt, the gelding, stuck his head over his own stall door.

"I have a treat for you, too," Draco said, smiling affectionately at the large horse as he fed Burt another carrot.

The rain began to drum loudly on the roof, and Harry looked out again. He groaned when he saw how hard it was coming down. "Bloody hell," he muttered. "It's raining cats and dogs out there. We'll get soaked if we try to return to the house now."

"Don't you have your wand with you?"

"No," Harry replied. "You?"

"Mine is in the house," said Draco. He came to sit next to Harry on a bale of hay and sighed. "I reckon Maeve is making a fantastic lunch."

"Yeah," Harry said, thinking forlornly of the lovely food his housekeeper was no doubt preparing.

"Maybe the rain will let up soon," Draco ventured.

"It's coming down in buckets," said Harry.

At least the stable was cozy and dry. There were worse places to sit out a downpour than surrounded by the scents of horses, leather, fresh hay...and Draco.

Harry turned his head and smiled at Draco. "What do you suppose we should do to pass the time?" he murmured.

Draco's pupils widened, and he smiled at Harry. "I have an idea," he said. "Let's clean out the stalls; they really need it."
