Draco stepped into his fireplace. "Malfoy Manor," he said, tossing a pinch of powder. He emerged in a drawing room, near his mother's favorite parlor. Draco found her there, working on correspondence.
"Mum," he said, "Potter's had the baby. You're a grandmother."
Narcissa's face brightened, only to cloud over. "I was hoping the two of you could resolve your issues before the birth," she said. "I wanted to be there for the grand finale, so to speak."
The mild rebuke stung Draco. "It was impossible for me to make amends with Potter, when I was forbidden from interacting with him."
