The Christmas tree in the Great Hall twinkled with a multitude of multi-hued Christmas lights. On closer inspection, however, the lights were revealed to be tiny faeries perched among the branches. Their happy holiday glow caused the tree to sparkle and shine.
It was late, and only two students were present in the Hall. One had come to retrieve the quill he'd forgotten to take with him after dinner, and the other was there in hopes of coaxing a sweet snack from the elves in the kitchens. They rounded the tree from opposite directions and almost bumped into one another.
"M-Malfoy!"
"Potter."
The angel on top of the tree recognized an opportunity when she saw one, and she conjured a sprig of mistletoe and sent it down to hover over the boys' heads. Their mouths met in a shy kiss, but it escalated rapidly to a thorough, tongues-involved-and-hands-groping snog.
The angel's smile was rather smug. Who needed love potions when one had mistletoe and a little holiday magic?
