My 2nd school placement is REALLY going to test my abilities as an SLP with the population that I always thought I wanted to work with! At least I'll get to find out for sure only having to do it one day per week. The self-contained kids have some serious issues! And they are all pretty much nonverbal. I spent much of the day looking through files to figure out what I'll be doing. Most of my older kids are language issues not artic which makes me happy. And only two are behavior disorder. They don't know what room we'll be working from yet so hopefully they'll have that figured out before I go back next Friday which is a teacher workday so still no kids! What's one more week without services after almost 2 months!?! And I'm also beginning to wonder if my director will ever find anyone to fill the vacancy!!!
I am so glad it's Friday...I don't really have any plans for tonight which is just how I like it sometimes. Tomorrow night I have a bridal shower/bachelorette party so I'm looking forward to a night out with a different group of people than I usually go out with! Now I think I'll go relax on the couch for a bit!
