A stupid little excuse called "Executive Privilege". Basically a shield that makes Cheney AND Bush be coated in Teflon. It really is disgusting.

Because everyone learned their lesson about partisan witchhunts after the Clinton impeachment. No Democrat wants to turn Cheney into a martyr who did what he could to protect the country and then lose 20 house seats.

I'd hardly call it a witchhunt when he openly and proudly talks about how torture works on an almost weekly bases. I mean, he has clearly violated several conventions. If Hitler hadn't killed himself, would he not have been put on trial? (I'm not calling Cheney Hitler, just making a point.) Being a former V.P. shouldn't make him Teflon.
