Last year, I started using a chimney to start the coals rather than the starter fluid that I'd used forever. Right off the bat, it's worked great, giving fast, consistent results. The only wrinkle I forsee is a lack of newsprint in the future ( Read more... )

oooh, clever use of the flames. if i liked peppers, i would try it. maybe i can fire roast something else.

the peppers are just the right shape. Slice off the top and bottom, take out the seeds, and you have a mini chimney - flame just shoots right through it.

we have the same problem with lack of newspaper. when i think of it i grab some free papers at the grocery store, but i usually don't think of it.

what is that plate made of?

some kind of plastic, no recycle number, made in u.s.a.
