Yeah, heat!
So the furnace as off for 36 hours, which really, really sucked. It was 50 degrees in the apt by the time it got fixed. Luckily, we have space heaters, but still it was not fun...sigh
In other news:
Classes are going pretty well. I just read the graphic novel Blankets by Craig Thompson. It is wonderful, the illustrations are just perfect and the story is fantastic. Thompson chronicals the first romantic relationship of a 18 year old, introverted, artistic boy who falls in love with a girl that he meets at a Christian camp. They are both outsiders in many ways and they are both struggling with what direction they want their life to go in as well as struggling with the family dynamics in their famlies. The illustrations depict the emotions, sensations, and beliefs of his main character through elaborate surreal backgrounds and images as well as through various other artistic styles--Thompson really shows his depth and versitality through this work. Well worth curling up with :)
