so i pretend to know how to play guitar.  to get better, i go to tab websites and learn songs that sound easy.  now, the MPA (Music Publishers Association) is shutting down and suing sites like this because they're supposedly full of copyright infringements.  click here.  it's complete bullshit, because the tabs that people post are just interpretations, and not stolen from any book or anything.  also, a lot of them show just chord progressions, like G C D.  you can't claim that these are in any way copyright infringements, because they are just a sharing of information from one person to many other people.  which is why the internet was invented.

and know what else is fun?  Not only is the MPA going after tab websites, but it's also going after lyric websites.  here.  next they're probably going to go after every person on livejournal or xanga or AIM for posting songs in their entries/away messages.

I congratulate the MPA for alienating everyone that made them rich, greedy bastards.  We bought their CDs, they sued us.  FUCK.
