"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove . . . . but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."
I love Facebook. Tonight I heard from a student who graduated almost 30 years ago. He proclaimed to the world on my Wall that I made an impact on his life lo these many years ago. I will miss this about teaching high school... the open, unabashed emotion often worn right on the sleeve for all to see. Even as adults, we remember our favorite teachers. I wish mine were alive and had Facebooks. I would post on their Walls how much of a difference they made in my life.
In lieu of that... A message to the Great Beyond... thank you Spenny, Jack, and Mr. D. for giving so much and for challenging me to be the best me I could be.
And thanks to you, Mark. You made my day.
