Alright. Time for change right? I think I'm going to start giving back from everything that I've taken from this country. I appreciate it everybit and I think it's about time I showed it. Here's the game plan..
I've got a couple of options. Most of the things that I'd like to do, I can't really do while in high school because of scheduling conflicts. Once I get out of high school though, I think I might try to be a Big Brother. If you're not familiar with it, then I'll explain it a bit.. it's basically where you are a fatherly figure to kids that don't have dads. You help guide them in the right direction and spend some quality time with them. Like, every Saturday go take them to an arcade, or a baseball game, or go to a park. Fun stuff. For more info check
The Big Brothers And Sisters Website The other thing that I think I could still do while in high school is to volunteer at the downtown Orlando soup kitchens. I've done it before and I went home feeling better about myself. Knowing that I helped out. If anybody thinks they might wanna do it, just holla at me and we'll figure out how to go about it.
The thing that I'm really still debating is joining the army reserves. I would probably do it after I graduated from college but I still think it would be rewarding experience.
I guess I just don't want to look back on my youth and say that I did nothing but hang with friends. I want to have given back to the community and contributed more to society than that. I'm gonna give this stuff a shot at least and see what happens. I think it's a step in the right direction so I'm ready to give it a go.
