'You're the one who held me up, never let me fall
you're the one who saw me through it all...
I'm everything I am, because you loved me'

He jumped, he climbed. He saw the chair across the room. Too easy. He looked at Marsh, sitting in the recliner, glasses on, reading the sports section of the paper. He smiled to himself. Perfect.
Marshall was minding his own business. This was his 'me-time' so to speak. Catching up on the scores of the games he missed during the week. He shook the paper to get the wrinkle out of the section. College football. He searched the page for Florida and found it. "ESPN on Tuesday had an upset for players and fans alike. The Gators were crushed by Utah in a surprising-" He threw the paper down as he jumped up out of his chair.
"Uh, Marsh?" Wes said when he turned around and saw the enraged baritone.
"What?!" Marshall replied.
"...oh, never mind." He stopped looking at Marsh and started to trek over to get the chair.
He saw the hurt in his friends eyes, (even if it was an act) sighed, and walked into the kitchen.
"What do you want, Wes?"
"I need the paper plates and plastic utensils from up there-" he pointed at the cabinet above the refrigerator, "but I can't reach it. Could you help-"
Wes was cut off when warm arms hugged his thighs and picked him up.
"Whoa, whoa!" He yelled.
Marsh laughed. "Don't worry. I gotcha. Hey, I never knew you were this light."
"Shut up! Just don't drop me..."
"I won't. Just get your stuff." Marsh sounded like he was about to add something but stopped.
Wes wiggled in Marsh's arms, trying to get to the back of the cabinet. Marsh didn’t know any better than to laugh at the man shaking his rear end in his face.
"Ok, I got it!" Wes yelled as if he was too high for Marsh to hear him.
Marshall slowly squatted down and set Wes's feet on the hardwood flooring. He let go and gradually made his way up the man's body.
"Thanks." Wes said when he finally realized he was on the secure ground again.

"No problem." Marsh replied with a whisper in his ear and went back to his reading.
The idea was cooler than the story. ‘still like the way it turned out.
